Why online CBT may suit you
Support from your own space
Remote sessions can be easier to fit around work, family life and travel.
Clear work between sessions
Worksheets and exercises help you apply CBT skills between appointments.

Structured CBT without the travel
Online therapy can still feel structured, personal and purposeful when the work is planned well. We use remote sessions to explore the same CBT links between thoughts, feelings, behaviour and physical responses, while setting clear goals and reviewing what helps between appointments.
Through Cleeve Therapy Group, you can access this support nationally, which may suit you if travel is difficult or if therapy needs to fit around work, family life or health concerns. For many people, being in a familiar private space also makes it easier to focus on what they want from the session.
How to prepare for online sessions
Before we begin, you need a quiet place, a suitable device and enough uninterrupted time to stay engaged. With Cleeve Therapy Group, we can use worksheets, between-session exercises and regular progress reviews so the work carries into everyday life rather than stopping at the screen.
One-to-one online CBT keeps the focus closely on your own pattern and goals. If you prefer a shared curriculum and learning alongside others, one of our online group CBT courses may be a better fit.

Frequently asked questions
Is online CBT as structured as clinic therapy?
Yes. The structure is the same. We still agree goals, look at the links between thoughts, feelings and behaviour, use practical exercises and review progress over time. The main difference is that you join from your own private space rather than attending the clinic.
What do I need for an online session?
You need a quiet and private place, a reliable internet connection, and a phone, tablet or computer that lets you stay engaged without interruption. It also helps to leave enough time before and after the session so you are not rushing in or straight back out.
How is one-to-one online CBT different from a course?
One-to-one online CBT stays closely focussed on your own concerns, history and goals. An online group course follows a shared programme, includes other participants and offers less individual therapeutic attention. The assessment can help you compare those two formats.
